Doctrina Christiana is the first book printed in the Philippines in 1593. It is a little book of prayers that was written by Juan de Plasencia, Miguel de Talavera and Juan de Oliver. Its complete title is Doctrina Christiana en lengua española y tagala from the catechism of Cardinal Bellarmino. It also has a Chinese version titled Shi-lu.
