What is ICAM?
You are an officer or a manager in one of our local arts organization or cultural information. Imagine all the potential problems that you could be faced with day in and day out. Like: Where do I get the funding for my next production or exhibition? Towards what directions will I steer my organization? How will I mobilize my staff for this big festival? How will I market and promote my forthcoming event? These are but some of the numerous concerns that all of us are faced with as culture and arts managers.
Answering to the growing need for professional managers in arts and culture who can steer their organizations successfully toward the attainment of organizational goals, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) established the Institute for Cultural and Arts Management (ICAM) as a pioneering program through which culture and arts managers can develop skills and be trained to meet the challenges of the profession.
Vision
The Institute of Cultural and Arts Management envisions a professionally managed cultural and arts sector with a strong national network that promotes sustainable cultural development.
Mission
- ICAM shall be a catalyst for he empowerment of cultural and arts managers as effective agents of social transformation and integration.
- ICAM aims to professionalize the cultural and arts management sector grounded on a unified vision of sustainable cultural development.
What can ICAM offer you?
Because you are practitioners who are busy with your work, ICAM has devised an educational program that will be least disruptive of our current duties and responsibilities with the organizations you are affiliated with. Special five (5) day intensive courses on various aspects of arts and cultural management will be offered in the venue of the requesting party. The non-degree courses will be taught by experienced and distinguished faculty members who are themselves practitioners in the field of arts and cultural management.
ICAM Courses Offered in the Regions
ICAM offers one (1) satellite course for 40 hours per month to interested groups in the regions. An ICAM team of five (5) people is sent to handle the week-long course. ICAM can offer any one of the following courses in the region with a minimum of 30 participants who are practitioners in the fields of arts and cultural management.
